In this work, the interior of the car becomes both a cinematic stage and a psychological space, a place of motion, control, and direction. The presence of the female figure within this engineered setting speaks to ambition, endurance, and the navigation of systems that have historically defined the terms of women’s movement.
Influenced by film noir, I use light, fragmentation, and staged composition to create tension between vulnerability and power. The body appears partially revealed, never fully fixed, resisting a singular reading. It becomes a force moving through structure rather than an object contained by it.
For me, the collision of flesh and machinery speaks to the contradictions of being a woman, soft and unyielding, vulnerable and in control, constructed and constantly reconstructing myself. The image holds a quiet velocity: a moment of transition where identity is not given, but driven.
My practice is rooted in building images rather than simply capturing them. Through staged photography, symbolic objects, and collage, I create worlds where emotion takes physical form and where women are seen not as passive subjects, but as agents of momentum and complexity.
